Mary‑Chase (Wood) Gower is a third‑generation Partner at Wood Family Financial, a legacy investment and insurance firm committed to serving families through every stage of life. Her passion for guiding clients stems from a lifelong connection to the business beginning with her first job at age 15, filing paperwork for the family firm.
Since officially joining Wood Family Financial in 2002, Mary‑Chase has carried forward her family’s tradition of building enduring relationships grounded in trust, continuity, and personal connection. She attended the University of Tennessee. Beyond her professional work, Mary‑Chase is actively involved in her community as a Girl Scout troop leader and PTO chair. She and her family share a full and joyful home with her two children, Van and Everleigh; her mother, Claudia; and three beloved dogs—Gus, Beau (both dachshunds), and Skinny, a chocolate lab.
In her free time, Mary‑Chase enjoys gardening, watercolor painting, reading, antiquing, Pilates, and swimming.
PARTNER
Evan and Mary-Chase Gower’s passion for financial planning can be traced back to the legacy of Mary-Chase’s family, which founded Wood Family Financial. Together, they co-own the firm, where they carry on the traditions started by Mary-Chase’s Grandfather Jasper, Uncle Michael and Father Houston. Evan works closely with clients to build secure retirement plans and financial futures. Their commitment to multi-generational service ensures that clients, some of whom have been with the firm for decades, receive personalized guidance—whether managing $10,000 or $1 million.
Evan, who joined the firm under Houston’s mentorship, shares the same dedication to client education. He is also a partner at Wood Family Financial, where he helps guide clients through the complexities of retirement planning. Like Mary-Chase, Evan believes in the importance of educating clients, enabling them to understand their financial choices thoroughly before making decisions. Together, they uphold the family tradition of client-first service, ensuring that every person who walks through their door receives the attention they deserve.
Both Evan and Mary-Chase are committed to expanding their expertise. Evan holds a life and health insurance license in TN, AL, KY, MS, NC and FL comprehensive investment and retirement services to their clients.
Outside of their work, Evan is an avid outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping with their two children, Van and Everleigh, often taking weekend trips in their 1976 Airstream camper to explore new destinations. He shares Mary-Chase’s love for collecting antiques, particularly rare flags, which Evan has amassed over the years, including pieces from the Lincoln era and World War I.
While they are deeply committed to the success of Wood Family Financial, family remains at the heart of everything Evan and Mary-Chase do. They take pride in continuing the legacy of the Wood family business and hope that one day their children, Van and Everleigh, may choose to carry on the tradition. For now, they are focused on maintaining strong multi-generational relationships with their clients and growing the firm’s impact in the communities they serve.
